Description
Membrane covers are used in reverse osmosis systems for the following purposes:
- Protecting the membrane
- Enabling the membrane to withstand high pressure
- Improving the efficiency of the membrane
- Extend the life of the membrane
Membrane sheaths are found in the following types in reverse osmosis systems:
- Low pressure membrane sheaths: Membrane sheaths that can withstand pressure up to 300 psi. Generally used in municipal water treatment.
- High pressure membrane covers: Membrane sheaths that can withstand pressures up to 1000 psi. Generally used in seawater treatment.
Factors such as the function of the system, the quality of the water and the intended use of the water should be taken into account when selecting membrane covers.
